She expressed her apology for what she used to pretend herself “Continued appropriation of a Black Caribbean identity” admitting she was wrong, unprincipled, immoral, anti-black, and colonial.
she mentioned, “I am not a culture vulture, I am a culture leech”.
“I have not only claimed these identities as my own when i had absolutely no right to do so- when doing so is the very epitome of violance, of thievery and appropriation, of the myriad ways in which non-black people continue to use and abuse Black identities and cultures- but i have formed intimate relationships with loving, compassionate people who have trusted and cared for me when i have deserved neither trust nor caring”.

Goray mentioned that from the moment Krug came into the classroom she was in awe of her, but now she was just shocked that it was such a lie. after this confession through her article Krug had received plenty of comments, messages, and emails but she has not replied to any of them.
