Wall of Remembrance, Ceremony took place, South Carolina

On Friday 10th Annual Morning of Remembrance Ceremony took place. South Carolina’s leader, first responders, and service members gathered at the ceremony. This ceremony took place at the Columbia 9/11. The wall of honors of South Carolina’s fallen heroes who have lost their lives in the 19 years since 9/11. Also the retired Army lieutenant general, Caslen gave a speech. It was the keynote speaker for the ceremony. The Wall Of Remembrance has the names and faces of the risk-takers. These include 59 first responders and service members. The Wall Of Remembrance is directly behind two steel beams from the World Trade Center towers. The main motive is, gives constant reminders of the 2,997 people who had sacrificed their lives. The ceremony also includes an F-16 flyover and bells chimed throughout the ceremony. This marks the moment of each plane hit the towers and the Pentagon.

Outlook of Ceremony

The key speakers stressed that the ceremony is a way to pay tribute. They will never be forgotten and always be inside our hearts. As well as South Carolina’s first responders and military members were remembered. They made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our state and country. Dawn Yashimaro’s brother died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. She also attends the ceremony every year. However, the families who are loves ones died in service in the 19 years since that day were also honored. Quattlebaum and Captain Andrew Gillette with the Sumter County Sheriff’s office were honored. Their families even received a special gift presentation. Both the men had sacrificed their lives in service this year. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony did not have many people. But it was amazing.

New Wall of Remembrance

On the day of the 10th annual Midlands 9/11 ceremony the new “Wall Of Remembrance” is unveiled. Now there are also two granite pieces displaying the names of all Midland first responders and military members. Hence, two more names are being added which makes the count to 59.

However, the sacrifice of the officials will not go in vain. They are the ones who will be remembered life long. What they did was not just a simple person who can do it needs lots of courage and determination.
