Despite being on strict bed rest for a couple of weeks now, Simon Cowell has still managed to earn a lot more through his television appearances and record labels. His company Simco has played a great role in this achievement. Simco deals with the earnings from his business ventures. It reported a profit of approximately £37 million ($47 million) this year, which is £10 million more than the previous financial year.
Breaking down the profits
Reportedly, Simco brought in a profit of about £65 million between April 2018 and September 2019. The income comes from all of the shows that Cowell is producing worldwide. To name them, they are America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor, and The Greatest Dancer. The last show, however, was recently canceled.
Most of Cowell’s earnings are from the U.K. based shows even though he is the most popular in the United States. The U.K. shows bring in 42% of his overall salary. He receives 33% from projects based in the U.S. Further, he receives 25% from his projects in other parts of the world.
Simon Cowell ‘s disappearance from AGT
Cowell has been particularly well off even though he had to take a long break post his back injury in August. Unfortunately, he had to miss out on many of the episode tapings of AGT since he was on complete bed rest. AGT sought Kelly Clarkson and Kenan Thompson to fill-in for him. However, only 3 judges have been featured in several episodes. The main panel comprised of Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Heidi Klum.
Fans were surprised to see that he didn’t return for the finale on Tuesday. Earlier, Heidi Klum had revealed that he would return, but ultimately, he couldn’t. Fans took to Twitter to express how much they missed his commentary. He addressed them and further wished all the performers good luck for their acts.
Cowell’s Heartbreaking Accident
Back in August, Cowell had a major accident when he decided to experiment with his new electric bike. At the time, he was with his wife and two sons. When he fell off his bike, he was immediately rushed to the hospital. Cowell suffered from multiple fractures in his back and had to undergo a six-hour surgery. He was just one centimeter away from being paralyzed. Thankfully, he is stable and mobile now.
