On Tuesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Rhea Chakraborty 28, in a drug case that is linked with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. As per Mutha Ashok Jain, the deputy director of the Narcotics Control Bureau for southwest India, she has revealed around 15 names of Bollywood Celebrities.
Sources said that the NCB investigation states that there is some circle also which procures and supplies drugs to celebrities.
The NCB Investigation Revelation
The NCB investigation found that Showik Chakraborty and Dipesh Sawant used courier service to transport drugs from Sushant’s house to Rhea’s house in April. In the middle of lockdown, sources said the Courier person has confirmed that he collected courier from Dipesh Shawant and delivered it to Showik Chakraborty amid lockdown. The courier contained half a kilogram of drugs.
Chakraborty has been locked up for 14 days over a series of offenses which allegedly involves purchasing and consuming drugs, Jain said. The authorities did not find any drugs from Chakraborty, who has admitted to buying drugs for her boyfriend, Rajput, according to Jain. Those offenses carry a possible penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of 100,000 rupees ($1,360).
As per the sources, the Courier boy saved the phone number of Dipesh and Showik was saved. Call details reveal confirm that those three persons were indeed in contact. Cross questioning has been done with Dipesh, Showik, and Courier boy in this regard.
NCB CANCELLED RHEA’S BAIL
The NCB on Friday submitted an application before the special court seeking the cancellation of bail that was given to one of the three accused including Rhea in the case, Kaizan Ebrahim.
The other accused, including Rhea, have submitted that since the co-accused involving those on whom cannabis was allegedly found. They were granted bail, they should also be released on grounds of parity.
Rhea’s Current Location
Rhea, currently stayed in Byculla women’s jail, has said in her bail plea that there was no conviction of consumption, possession, or seizure of drugs against her and Showik and that the NCB is “deliberately vague and silent” on the amount of money, quantity of drugs and type of drugs she is alleged to have recovered and financed.
