Overwatch 2, a team-based first-person shooter sequel from Blizzard, has completed its first season. Despite the fact that this has been a challenging time marked by bugs, roster changes, and a tonne of community criticism, the game has overall remained remarkably strong.
The Blizzard team is hard at work getting the upcoming season ready for plans now that the hardship of a new game launch is behind them. Here are all the details about Overwatch 2’s Season 2, including when it begins, changes to the battle system, and a new hero.
When Does Overwatch 2 Season 2 Begin?
On December 6, Overwatch 2’s first season will come to a close, and Season 2 will then start. Although no official time has yet been announced for service, players should prepare for the servers to be down for a while during the update. It’s a safe assumption to assume that the weekly reset will take place on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. Eastern.
Players should anticipate that Season 2 will run roughly nine weeks based on how long Season 1 was. Therefore, Season 2 might go until the first week of February.
What Day Will Overwatch 2 Season 2 Debut?
Blizzard Entertainment has established a release date for Overwatch 2 Season 2 on December 6, 2022, across all platforms.
We will also receive a brand-new tank hero, a new map, a new battle pass to level up in, a brand-new mythic skin, and more than 30 new skins for the game’s heroes as part of Season 2. All of this was disclosed at the aforementioned Overwatch 2 unveiling along with the Season 2 release date.
Overwatch 2 Season 2: How to Unlock Ramattra
The inclusion of the recently revealed hero Ramattra is the largest new feature coming to the game in Season 2. He is a brand-new Tank character who has joined the game’s vast roster. Check out our guide for a complete description of his background, trailer, and skills.

Once Season 2 starts, not every player will have access to Ramattra. Similar to Kiriko in Season 1, players must advance through the Battle Pass to unlock him. Ramattra can be unlocked by leveling up in the Battle Pass to level 55 for those who don’t wish to pay for the premium Battle Pass. However, he will be accessible right away if you pay $10 for the premium Battle Pass.
Overwatch 2 Second Season Events
A fun seasonal event is something Overwatch enjoys. The annual Halloween event that the game hosts is maybe its most well-known feature, including unique game modes and a tonne of awesome cosmetic rewards. Even if the details are still being worked out, it is safe to anticipate that there will at the very least be a winter holiday-themed event close to the end of December.
The most recent Halloween event was received with a lot of criticism from the Overwatch 2 community because, although having a tonne of amazing cosmetics, they were all exclusive to in-game currency. Asserting that moving forward, “each event now has a skin you can acquire” just by playing the game, Blizzard acknowledges this criticism and promises gamers.

There will be players who believe one skin is insufficient compensation. When Blizzard sold a $10 skin for the hero Mei at a time when she was not playable in the game due to balance adjustments, the company’s practice of charging fans high prices for purely cosmetic items recently attracted criticism.
All previous updates to Overwatch 2’s support model will be included in Season 2, including full crossplay and cross-progression, which let you play with friends and transfer your unlocks between platforms. Along with these adjustments, you can anticipate unexpected events and interesting activities to appear throughout the season.
Brand-new Overwatch 2 Character
Ramattra is a new character in Overwatch 2. The commander of Null Sector was the tank hero Ramattra. They may switch between their Omnic and Nemesis forms as the head of Null Sector to either help their comrades or deal a tonne of damage.

As you can see, Overwatch 2 won’t slow down when it is released, and if Blizzard can keep up with its schedule for the release of Overwatch 2 Season 2 and upcoming seasons, the series’ best days may still be ahead of it. The second season will be our first opportunity to evaluate if the studio has been able to address many of the support difficulties we had with the first game.
