Nearly a century after a catastrophic nuclear apocalypse, the survivors from the space colony the Ark return to Earth in The 100. Teenage criminals make up the first set of colonists sent to Earth, where they meet the offspring of those who managed to survive the nuclear holocaust.
Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor), Finn Collins (Thomas McDonell), Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley), Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos), Jasper Jordan (Devon Bostick), Monty Green (Christopher Larkin), and John Murphy are some of the key characters of the juvenile inmates (Richard Harmon).
Engineer Raven Reyes (Paige Turco), council members Marcus Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) and Chancellor Thelonious Jaha (Isaiah Washington), and Clarke’s mother Dr. Abby Griffin (Paige Turco) also play significant roles.
Plot
The narrative opens on the space station Ark, where a band of survivors has made their home after the end of the world. After 97 years at sea, the Ark’s passenger count has reached its maximum. One hundred young adults are transported to Earth to see if they can survive there. They find a small group of the survivors, all of them are cannibals who used to live on Earth. Forty-eight bad guys are brought to justice by the Mount Weather miners in season two.
In season three, Pike’s former professor and mentor is honoured by having the Ark renamed in his honour. The Earth becomes uninhabitable when hundreds of reactors melt down in the fourth season. After everything has disintegrated, only a green dot remains. In season six, after 125 years in cryosleep, they find a new habitable world called Alpha, also called Sanctum.
