Next TV dramedy to be released by SyFy. The movie Reginald the Vampire, based on Johnny B. Truant’s Fat Vampire book series, is currently in production. The Spider-Man breakout star Jacob Batalon is the star of a new vampire television series that seems to mock Twilight and other popular culture vampire stereotypes. Twilight may not be the hottest trend in 2022, but vampires are still prevalent in popular culture, as seen in FX’s What We Do in the Shadows.
What is currently known about Reginald the Vampire? What else can we anticipate from the story now that we know what the plot will parody in popular culture? Who can we anticipate to appear alongside Batalon on screen now that he has landed his highest-profile television role as the title character? When will the Syfy television series debut? What else about Reginald the Vampire should viewers be aware of?
Release Date of Reginald the Vampire
On October 5, 2022, Reginald the Vampire has made his Syfy television debut.
Reginald the Vampire: Plot
This premise is teased in the official trailer. Reginald works at a convenience store. He wants to change his life circumstances. He gets that chance, and a mysterious stranger turns him into a vampire, which is common in this world. However, vampire leaders are reluctant to accept him.

Reginald, who must “feed” (i.e., drink blood) to survive, offers one man up to $50 to drink his blood.
Due to its lead character, this series should subvert tropes. Popular vampires are white, beautiful, and confident. “Perfect” vampires. The series can explore the vampire theme with Batalon, a vampire of color with a more unusual appearance. This series adds diversity and humor to the vampire craze, which has died down in recent years.
The cast of Reginald the Vampire
Jacob Batalon will play Reginald, the main character, as previously mentioned. Batalon makes his television debut with Reginald the Vampire, despite being well-known for his work as Ned Leeds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movies.
In addition to Batalon, Mandela van Peebles plays Maurice Miller in the television series. As Reginald’s “vampire life coach,” Maurice has the challenging task of educating Reginald about his new way of life. Sarah Kinney is Reginald’s human coworker and the actress who plays Em Haine in The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. She must develop the ability to stand up for what matters to her alongside Reginald.
Savannah Basley from SurrealEstate, Georgia Waters from Siren, Marguerite Hanna from Siren, and Aren Buchholz from Supernatural have all been cast in recurring roles in the dramedy. Todd, Reginald’s manager, is played by Buchholz, and Angela, a formidable and old vampire, is played by Basley. Penelope the vampire is played by Georgia Waters, and Ashley, a fellow employee who is prone to conspiracies, is played by Marguerite Hanna.
In unspecified roles, Rachelle Goulding, Andre Anthony, and Thailey Roberge are also included in the cast. In the upcoming weeks and months, we anticipate hearing about more castings.
How you can watch it
If you don’t have cable TV and want to buy or stream the first 10 episodes, Syfy’s website says that “programming can be seen on other platforms, such as iTunes, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.” Hulu has bought the rights to stream the show in the United States, and Prime Video will stream it in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
