In 2022, more than ten years after the release of the first Avatar movie, Avatar: The Way of Water will arrive in theatres.
We now know that fans will soon be preparing to watch Avatar: The Way of Water after months of it simply being known as “Avatar 2” which was given a title in April.
Fans will be able to follow Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) after the events of the first movie, which saw Jake permanently transformed into his avatar after Ney’tiri saved him from suffocation when the sequel hits theatres in December.
The sequel is ultimately a story about family and the lengths parents will go to keep their children safe and together, according to producer Jon Landau, who spoke about it to Entertainment Weekly.
The release date for Avatar: The Way of Water
On December 16, 2022, the highly anticipated sequel, one of the most popular new films of 2022, will be released worldwide in theatres. When the movie will be accessible via streaming services is currently unknown.

The Way of Water’s Storyline is Revealed in Avatar
As of now, we are aware that the movie tells the tale of the Sully family and the difficulties they encounter while residing in Pandora.
The movie’s official synopsis reads: “Neytiri and Jake Sully have started a family and are working hard to maintain it. They must depart from their house, though, and travel throughout Pandora. When a long-forgotten threat reappears, Jake is forced to engage in a challenging conflict with humans.”

Additionally, it has been revealed that underwater motion capture technology was used to film scenes underwater while the movie explores Pandora’s oceans.
Who is on the Cast List?
Of course, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana return as Jake and Neytiri, and Stephen Lang reprises his role as the late Colonel Miles Quaritch. He has been revealed to be the main antagonist, though the exact circumstances surrounding his resurrection have yet to be confirmed!

Sigourney Weaver returns as an unnamed new character, and Kate Winslet has been confirmed to play Ronal in the upcoming sequels.
Furthermore, during an interview with Empire Magazine, producer Jon Landau revealed that the sequel would feature a new human character named Spider (Jack Champion). Jake and Neytiri raised this character in the bioluminescent jungle.

In September 2017, filming for both this and the following sequels began at the same time.
The movie’s budget is reportedly around $250 million (INR 1909 Cr. approx.). According to the most recent reports, Avatar 2 will be released on December 16, 2022, in 160 different languages.
