The actor on Broadway and on television is Anthony Ramos. He has performed in the Broadway productions of West Side Story, School of Rock, In the Heights, and Hamilton. He was born in New York City to a Puerto Rican mother and a Dominican father.
Anthony Ramos has appeared in films like Northport Ny, Creed (the Rocky sequel), Is That Alright?, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He has also directed a number of music videos and appeared in L.A. Story and The Sandlot. He played tennis, rugby, and soccer at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., and for two years, he competed for the Cornell University Division I track team.
In Washington, D.C., he attended Gonzaga College High School. Afterward, he went to Harvard University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in molecular biology. Ramos also holds certificates in linguistics and music business studies from NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
The following year, he transferred to Cornell University, where he became a two-time All-American in track and field and helped the Big Red finish fourth at the NCAA Championships. He earned a psychology degree Cum laude.
Achievements and Recognition
He has won numerous accolades throughout his career, including the 2015 NCLR ALMA Award nomination for In the Heights, the 2016 Lucille Lortel Award for Lead Actor in a Musical, and the 2017 Obie Award for his performance in “In The Heights.” He has also been nominated for the 2015 Theater World Award and the 2015 NCLR ALMA Award.
He has also received a few nominations for awards: 1. “Hamilton” won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. 2. The 2015 Tony Award for “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” in Sings! for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role went to Charlie Brown. 3. The Lead Role of Usnavi in In the Heights won a 2012 Theater World Award 4. The 2012 production of In the Heights received an NCLR ALMA Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical.
He began his acting career at New York’s Second Stage Theatre in the off-Broadway production of “A Boy Like That.” He played Usnavi in the original Broadway cast of “In the Heights” and later served as a stand-in for Benny. Before the Broadway premiere of In the Heights, Ramos participated in a number of promotional videos alongside the other cast members.
He joined the cast of “Hamilton” in 2010 as Aaron Burr’s son and Alexander Hamilton’s nephew. He had just graduated from high school. Due to scheduling issues with his television roles on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Tyrant,” Ramos was forced to leave the show in May 2012. In the 2013 Broadway production of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder,” he portrayed Sands.
Ramos was born in New York City to a father who is Dominican and a mother who is Puerto Rican. They held positions as operations directors for a New Orleans hotel company and as finance directors for the Dominican Consulate. His parents got to know one another while attending Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where they were both international relations majors.

Before relocating to Washington, D.C., Ramos resided in New York City. growing up and attending high school in the Ward 5 neighborhood of the city’s inner city. He received a 4.0 GPA and a diploma from Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., in 2005. He took part in their Model UN and was admitted into their Honor Society. the GCHS junior varsity team.
His mother, Isabel Ramos, is a Georgetown University alumna and a former F.B.I. agent. Jose Ramos, his father, is a Georgetown University alumnus who spent many years as the Dominican Consulate’s Upper East Side finance director. With a sister named Katherine Ramos, Anthony had a Catholic upbringing.
Success is the most important thing to him. He counsels people to overcome their fear of hard work. You must put in the effort if you want to succeed in life. Don’t expect anything from the world if you’re unwilling to put in the effort. There will always be detractors, but you should take advice from those who inspire you.
He Used To Be A Rockette
Anthony Ramos worked a variety of jobs while growing up in New York City, specifically in Bushwick, Brooklyn. His first job was at Victoria’s Secret store in SoHo, and he later joined the Rockettes. Ramos was cast as a Rockettes company member in a show called Heart and Lights at Radio City Music Hall. Unfortunately, the show was canceled during the previews.
Fortunately for Ramos, he then received a call about something called “the Hamilton Mixtape,” which led him down his successful path.
He Desired to Play Baseball!
Acting and singing were not always a part of my life. Anthony Ramos considered a career in sports as well. Ramos aspired to be a baseball player and coach when he was younger. His goal was to gain admission to an NCAA Division III college. He later decided to become a baseball coach.
Ramos, on the other hand, grew tired of the sport over time. He then decided to try his hand at acting. Ramos sang Motown in a student group called the Halsey Trio. This prompted him to enroll at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He even received a full scholarship! He then graduated in 2011 and began his career as an actor/performer.
