Carmella wrote of having an ectopic pregnancy, “I never thought something like this would happen to me, especially after suffering from an early miscarriage in September.”
One month after having a miscarriage, WWE star Carmella lost another pregnancy.
Carmella, whose real name is Leah Van Dale, shared a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed on Monday.
She stated in the caption that “I’ve debated with myself” about whether or not to share her loss “because I’m not looking for any sort of sympathy.”
Since October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, she made the decision to share the article.
She wrote, “Today, I was treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I never imagined that I would experience something like this, especially after having a miscarriage early in September.

Ectopic pregnancies are uncommon and happen when a fertilized egg implants somewhere other than the uterus, occasionally in a fallopian tube. The fertilized egg “cannot survive,” and the growing tissue “may cause life-threatening bleeding, if left untreated,” according to the Mayo Clinic, meaning that these pregnancies “cannot proceed normally.”
Carrying on, Carmella “After discovering a positive pregnancy test, nothing can adequately prepare you for this news. After the early loss I had already suffered, I was cautiously optimistic this time, but I was hoping for the best.”
On Saturday, the athlete had already spent 12 hours in the emergency room when she “started experiencing some sharp pains on my left side.”
She said, “I was given the devastating news that this was, in fact, an abnormal pregnancy after several tests and ultrasounds.”
She admitted that she felt compelled to share her experience because it might be “isolating” for others.

Before complimenting Iliza Shlesinger for discussing her miscarriage in her Hot Forever comedy special on Netflix, which Carmella and her husband Corey Graves recently watched, she questioned why no one ever discusses this.
After watching the special, Carmella wrote, “I instantly burst into tears.” “She continued by saying that we should talk about this issue more openly so that women don’t blame themselves or believe there is something wrong with them. I want to follow suit.”
I know I’ll eventually recover from all of this mentally, physically, and emotionally, the professional wrestler said, adding that she is not “looking for sympathy” or to be treated as a “statistic.”
