Halstead leaving Chicago P.D. caused Marina Squerciati to shed “So Many Tears.”
Jesse Lee Soffer, who has played Det. Jay Halstead on Chicago P.D. since the 2014 series pilot, has ended his contract. When Halstead rejoined the army to pursue drug cartels in Bolivia in Season 10, Episode 3 of “A Good Man,” it was a tragic scene.
Fans and his One Chicago family are naturally upset over the long-time cast member’s departure. Several of Soffer’s co-stars acknowledged him on social media.
Officer Kevin Atwater’s on-screen counterpart, LaRoyce Hawkins, wrote an Instagram picture with a collection of images of Soffer with the words “To make a long tale short, it will never be the same..”

Benjamin Levy Aguilar, who recently joined the cast as Dante Torres, also added a touching Instagram message. “I’m not sure where to begin. I suppose life imitates art. You welcomed me into the show when I first appeared, exactly as your on-screen character did “said he.
“I appreciate how generous you are in providing me with a creative outlet. I honor your path and your story. I’m happy to say we are friends. I’ll miss you, brother.”

The actor who portrays Dr. Will Halstead, Soffer’s on-screen brother in Chicago Med, Nick Gehlfuss, even offered a special video greeting for the actor.

He asked, “Do you recall when you welcomed me into this entire franchise.” “I won’t ever forget how considerate, understanding, and genuinely helpful you were. I found it to be intimidating at the time, but you made it much simpler. I’m really going to miss you, guy, and you’re never going to be a better golfer than I am. Since that time, we have grown closer than all of this.”

Therefore, how will Chicago P.D. appear without Halstead? Amy Morton (Trudy Platt) provided some insight into NBC Insider.
It’s a significant shakeup, she added. “Especially considering that Jesse has been there from the start and that this is our tenth season. So, it’s a major upheaval. Benjamin Aguilar, our newest team member, is a fantastic actor who is also a rookie officer.
He was hired right after leaving the academy. And because he is so, so different from everyone else on the squad, I think that relationship will be incredibly interesting.”
On Wednesdays at 10/9c and the next day on Peacock, catch Chicago P.D. on NBC.
