We continue to think about one of the most shocking dramas to come out of 2021 on a regular basis. Of course, we’re referring to Yellowjackets on Showtime, the program that had us all hooked last winter. As more information about the plot steadily leaks into the news, people are already anticipating Season 2. A few cast members have been revealed by Showtime, but there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the drama, which follows a girls’ soccer team as they go into full survival mode after a plane crashes in the middle of the 1990s in a remote area of the north.

The shocking and unsettling finale of the first season left us with more questions than answers in classic cliffhanger style. After being shunned by her teammates, Jackie (Ella Purnell) died shockingly alone in the snow, and Travis’s brother Javi went missing following the girls’ hallucinatory night in the woods. We learned that Natalie was taken from her motel room and put into a van in the present and that Lottie is still very much alive and the alleged founder of a cult.

Yellowjackets Season 2 Cast

There will be more survivors of airline crashes this season. Along with Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Simone Kessell playing an adult Lottie, Lauren Ambrose (Servant) will be joining the cast as an adult Van. Elijah Wood has been tapped to appear as a series guest star.

In the present-day plot, the former Lord of the Rings actor will play Walter, a nosy citizen detective who is apparently aware of Misty’s evil deeds. According to Showtime, Walter will “push Misty in ways she won’t see coming.” Since Jackie played by Ella Purnell unquestionably passed away at the conclusion of Season 1, it is unknown if she will make any appearances in Season 2.

Lyle and Nickerson told Variety in February 2022 that they are still in the “early phases” and that the authors had only recently begun. The showrunners, Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that we will see an adult Lottie in season 2, but they noted that the part hasn’t yet been cast.

According to TvGuide Showtime has not yet disclosed an official date for the beginning of the second season’s broadcast. However, according to the information presented above, the Yellowjackets girls will most likely return to our screens sometime in the spring of 2023.
