Dever was born and reared in the city of Phoenix, Arizona by his parents, Tim and Kathy Dever. Her two younger sisters are Mady and Jane Dever. She is the oldest of the three. When she was only five years old, she had an interest in the performing arts, and her parents decided to send her to an acting school so she could pursue that desire. Before she decided to pursue a career in acting, she was also active in gymnastics, ballet, and skating.
