The Plot of Things Heard and Seen
Things Heard and Seen reveals some chilling truths about the past as well as some lies that have been told. The alluring college professor George Clare, played by James Norton, uproots his family and moves them to a lonely old farmhouse in the Hudson Valley. Catherine, played by Amanda Seyfried, the star of “Mamma Mia!,” accompanies them.
The new home that the Manhattan couple has moved into appears to be picture-perfect at first glance. When odd occurrences start to take place, Catherine gets the impression that the house is hiding some troubling secrets.
This twisty psychological and supernatural spookfest is set in the 1980s and also stars Karen Allen, Natalia Dyer, F Murray Abraham, and Rhea Seehorn. It slowly exposes that both the house and the Clares‘ marriage are home to horrific secrets…
It doesn’t take long for the Clares‘ new existence to begin falling apart when they begin to feel at home in the neighborhood and make new friends. When spooky things start to happen, including strange noises, lights, and sensations, as well as the discovery of a Bible from the 1800s with the word “damned” scribbled over the name of a former occupant, Catherine starts to get the impression that the old dairy farm is hiding some troubling secrets.
Catherine, who is experiencing some strange occurrences, makes the decision to investigate the history of the house, not realizing that George is already aware of everything that took on there and is making every effort to conceal it from her.
Screenwriters and Directors Working on the Things Heard and Seen
Shari Springer Berman and her husband, Robert Pulcini, collaborated on the writing of the screenplay for the film Things Heard and Seen, which they also directed together. The duo has collaborated on a variety of projects in the past, some of which include American Splendor, The Nanny Diaries, and Girl Most Likely.
“Movies that are based on some form of actual subconscious terror are some of my favorites to see. According to Springer Berman, “And I think one of the most frightening things in the world is a marriage.” “There are spirits, and there is murder, but in addition to all of that, there is a genuine emotional drama.”
Pulcini chimes in to say that “the actual misery of the narrative is the marriage!” “One of the things that I appreciated most about the book was the fact that it led me on a journey that was completely unexpected by me.
