Season One Preview
Jarrod Bungert is poised to launch his most devastating scheme after terrorizing Melbourne for weeks. Psychiatrist Jane Halifax won’t let that happen.
She knows the former student activist is ready to assault and will try to stop him. First, Jane must figure out what Jarrod plans, and a clue about his father will help. Jarrod may be planning a chemical bomb strike that may kill hundreds.
Jarrod prepares his bomb near the wharf and waits. Jarrod’s death triggers the bomb’s detonation. Snipers and Taskforce members surround the wharf, as Jane bravely goes in to talk to Jarrod. The series finale won’t be Jane’s only showdown. Jane will finally see Mandy after her arrest for plotting to kill Ben.
Mandy planned to kill Jane once Ben stopped giving her cash. But the shooter hit Ben. Mandy’s lone weapon against Jane is their daughter Zoe. Mandy wants to further shatter Jane and Zoe’s connection. Mandy won’t readily admit it. Mandy is deceitful, seductive, and narcissistic. Jane’s psychiatry talents will be tested if Detective Mila Bronski can’t break her.
The last remaining issue is Jane’s strained connection with Zoe. Jane and her stepmother have been at odds since Ben’s death due to Jane’s inability to express her sadness.
With Mandy in custody and proof that she orchestrated Ben’s death, Zoe will realize that Jane is the one person she can genuinely trust.
When Zoe realizes Jane has risked her life to talk down the shooter, she hurries to the wharf, regretting every harsh word and hoping for a chance to restore their relationship.
When will the second season of Halifax: Retribution be released?
Season 2 of Halifax: Retribution has not yet been officially renewed by Nine Network. The new season is yet to be announced for May 2022. That doesn’t mean it’s over, but it’s a good sign.
