The Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphan anime from 2015 was unquestionably the most successful major series to be released in the Gundam franchise in recent years (IBO). However, at the same time as Gundam IBO was airing, there was another miniseries that ran concurrently and was successful in stealing some of the spotlight away from the main series.
This Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt miniseries was given the name Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt.
The Thunderbolt franchise may have begun as a miniseries, but it was the compilation movies that brought the show to the attention of the general public.
The first season was adapted into a movie that was released in 2016 and was titled Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky. The second season was adapted into a movie that was released in 2017 and was titled Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower. At that time, Thunderbolt had a run that was quite fruitful and successful.
Fans and critics alike gave the film positive reviews due to its charming cast of characters, exciting action sequences, and resourceful application of jazz. The fans were eager to see more Thunderbolt because they couldn’t get enough of it and couldn’t get enough of it. Regrettably, there was never any sign of the next movie appearing on the horizon. Is the third Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt movie going to be made at some point?
The programme had very strong technical designs, which helped to make the narrative more engaging and exciting to watch. The action of the story happens during the One Year War, while the events of Mobile Suit Gundam take place in the background. The Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon, which have powerful energies and powers that are diametrically opposed to one another, compete with one another within the Thunderbolt Sector.
The Thunderbolt Sector is a shoal zone that is filled with debris from previously existing space colonies that have been destroyed. This fight is not like the typical battles in mainstream science fiction; instead, it takes place on a perilous battlefield that is not only hit by consistent but also menacing electrical strikes.
It features a number of intense action sequences that demonstrate the heavy professionalism of soldiers, such as the fantastic build of Io Fleming competing against Zeon’s star character and sniper Daryl Lorenz and his clients. Both sides put forth their best effort and fight with unrelenting ferocity to defend their respective colonies. The music in the anime is incredible, and it really helps to set the tone for the entire series.
When will the third season of Gundam Thunderbolt be available to watch?
In Gundam Thunderbolt, Daryl plays the part of Zeon, and Io Fleming takes on the part of The Federation. After the completion of two seasons, Naohiro Ogata has recently explained why the series was not renewed for a third season or brought back for a third season. Ogata gave the interviewers at Anime Herald an explanation as to why the third season will not be made available at this time.
I can tell you that one of the reasons you haven’t seen more Thunderbolt is because we are waiting for more of the story from the original manga to be adapted into the show.
Thunderbolt is a show that we would like to produce more of, but we don’t want to until we have access to more material. Tendonitis is one of the issues that the creator is dealing with at the moment. When we have access to additional chapters of the manga, we plan to make further announcements regarding Thunderbolt.
They are waiting for additional raw material for this new segment rather than generating new original stories, which is why they are delaying the release of Gundam Thunderbolt Season 3, which will now not come out until later this year. What are your reactions to Ogata’s justification, if you’ve read it? Do you consider this to be the primary reason why there has not been a new episode of Thunderbolt season 3?
