Zomboat Season 2 Release Date : Will Leah Brotherhead (Kat) Stay In Spotlight again

zomboat

There seemed to be no limit to the number of shows and films based on the popular zombie apocalypse concept. ‘Zomboat!’ is a comedy-drama written by Adam Miller (‘The Windsors’) and Will Hartley (‘Tracy Ullman’s Show’) that airs on Hulu and ITV.

The show, which was written by Miller, Hartley, and Liz Doran, chronicles the aftermath of a zombie outbreak in Birmingham. Sisters Kat and Jo band together with odd travel partners Sunny and Amar to flee to safety while aboard a canal boat.

When these four extremely different people are forced to share living quarters in a crowded ship, they have disagreements, arguments, and clashing of opinions. They fall in love, create new friendships, and form alliances along the road. Slowly, they understand that even in the middle of danger, there is no escape from life’s everyday issues.

“ITV2 is devoted to comedy for younger audiences, and we’re happy to work with Hulu and Noho Productions to add this incredibly high-concept, home-grown comedy-adventure series to our slate,” said Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions for ITV2. “Zomboat is a gorily funny new comedy with a superb ensemble,” says Sasha Breslau, ITV’s Head of Acquired Series. ITV2 is ecstatic to be aboard the Zomboat, ready to fight the undead.”

The show’s first season was well-received. Now the issue is, will there be a second season of ‘Zomboat’? We’ll get into it later, but first, let’s take a look at the series’ specifics.

Who’s in the Zomboat Cast?

‘Zomboat!’ has a promising lead cast, including some well-known faces from British television. Kat is played by Leah Brotherhead. Her most well-known roles are the BBC drama ‘Gold’ and ITV’s ‘Vera.’ Jo is played by Cara Theobold of ‘Crazyhead’ and ‘Absentia’ fame. Sunny is played by Hamza Jeetooa, who is best known for his roles in ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Luther.’ Ryan McKen, who plays Amar, completes the major cast. He’s been on shows including ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Bancroft.’

What is the plot of Zomboat?

‘Zomboat!’ opens with the outbreak of a zombie apocalypse in Birmingham, England. Jo, who has lately returned to her hometown and decided to live with her sister Kat, is then introduced. Kat, on the other hand, is a computer game fanatic who believes in strange conspiracy theories. As a result, when Kat informs Jo about the zombie apocalypse, she finds it difficult to believe her sister.

Amar, a gym fanatic with a talent for confronting difficulties head-on, joins them. Sunny, his closest and longest friend, despises society and would rather pass out the storm from the safety of his own home. Eventually, these four unusual people join Dorothy, a narrow boat on the Grand Union canal.

After understanding that zombies cannot swim, they devise a method to escape through water. According to Kat, zombies’ ineptitude has been an underutilised quality that they should fully exploit.

When the gang is forced to start on a journey across the canal in cramped confines, they have no choice but to form friendships and form alliances despite occasional conflicts and arguments. The journey also leads to developing romances and the realisation that, even amid a zombie apocalypse, individuals cannot escape their daily troubles.

‘Zomboat!’ is a zombie-themed comedy with a ludicrous concept. However, it is really funny, with dark comedy undertones. Anyone can appreciate the story, even if they are not a fan of zombies. If you like the genre, you’ll appreciate it even more because it has several references to shows like ‘The Walking Dead.’ In other words, it’s a tribute to your favourite zombie shows.

Leah Brotherhead in Season 2

The British actress made her screen debut in the short film Jess/Jim in 2011. She played Jess in this rom-com, which tells the story of two people who have a romantic friendship while living in the city.

It’s a nice little picture worth seeing, and while the next project she featured in isn’t well-known, it has a lot of clout among British TV lovers. Leah played Maisie Jones in the television series Vera, which starred Brenda Blethyn (Secrets & Lies) as the main character.

She also starred in Doctors (as Nell Prescott/Alice Ainsworth), Casualty (as Sarah Hammond), and Boy Meets Girl (as Sarah Hammond) (Nancy). In the run-up to Kat in Zomboat!, her most recent performance was in the amusing TV series White Gold (she played Stacey). It stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas, both of whom have previously appeared in The Inbetweeners, and is well worth watching if you haven’t already.

In terms of her previous cinematic work, Zomboat! stands out as her most substantial. We anticipate seeing more shortly!
