A BTS concert at SoFi: Over 300,000 Tickets Sold, and Zero to the General Public!

The demand for BTS’s four-show run at SoFi Stadium in California was so high that some BTS superfans are considering retaliating against fans of the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams, according to the Los Angeles Times.

When it comes to tickets, it has been an especially difficult week for fans of the wildly popular group, who have struggled with buggy systems, long lines, and rapidly dwindling opportunities to see the band perform live for the first time in two years. The general public was not even offered a single ticket because the entire supply of nearly 400,000 tickets was sold out before the event took place on the scheduled date.

“Due to overwhelming past purchaser & verified fan presale demand for BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, all shows are sold out & tickets are not available for the public onsale,” read a tweet from Ticketmaster Fan Support sent out at 11:06 a.m. Friday, just hours before the general public was scheduled to get their chance to purchase tickets to the residency this fall. “Due to overwhelming past purchaser & verified fan presale demand for BTS

With at least four specific groups receiving the full allotment of somewhere around 100,000 available tickets per show (the maximum capacity of SoFi Stadium is estimated to be around that figure, though the general seating capacity for football games is closer to 70,000), it appears that the residency’s availability had already been exhausted. Priority was given to VIP ticket purchasers for the Map of the Soul tour that was canceled on Tuesday, with the remainder of MOTS ticket purchasers getting the first crack at the tickets on Wednesday. Following the Thursday release of tickets reserved for members of BTS’s Global Official FanClub (who were later vetted for priority status by Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system), Friday’s general Verified Fan release was made available. Apart from that, corporate clients, businesses, promotional partners, and Personal Seat License holders were almost certainly given access to the stadium through special arrangements with the organizers.

It goes without saying that those who were left empty-handed after Ticketmaster announced that the event had sold out completely were extremely dissatisfied with the outcome – and you didn’t have to look any further than the comments on the @TMFanSupport thread to see that.
