JEE Advanced Exam 2021 Postponed, Revised Dates To Be Out Soon

JEE Advanced Exam 2021 Postponed Due To Covid-19 Surge, Know Details

Considering the worsening situation of Covid-19 in the country, JEE Advanced Exam 2021 which was scheduled to be held on July 03, 2021 has been postponed to a later date. The decision has been taken considering the safety of students in mind. The notice for the same has been posted on the official website of IIT Kharagpur @jeeadv.ac.in :

Considering the prevailing pandemic situation due to COVID-19, JEE (Advanced) 2021 which was scheduled to be held on July 03, 2021 (Saturday) stands postponed. The revised date of examination will be announced at an appropriate time.

The exam had to be happened in two shifts i.e.,

  • Paper I – 9:00 AM To 12:00 PM
  • Paper II – 2:30 PM To 5:30 PM

Now, these exams will be held later when everything will get back to normal. Top 2.5 lakhs candidates who cleared their JEE Mains will sit for this exam. This exam is held every year and has two stages – JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. All those who clear the first round ‘JEE Mains’ are eligible to sit for ‘JEE Advanced’ and this exam ‘JEE Advanced’ is a gateway to pursue your bachelor’s integrated master’s, dual degree courses from IITs. In total there are 23 IITs in the country.

IIT Kharagpur has published the subject-wise syllabus and mock tests for JEE Advanced Exam 2021 and in wake of Covid-19 pandemic, this year 75% eligibility criteria has also been removed. The only thing a candidate needs to do is secure pass marks in your +2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (as essential subjects) with a language, and any other subject.

Last year, some of the candidates were not able to sit for JEE Advanced 2020 after clearing their JEE Mains 2020 because of Covid-19, so this year, IIT Kharagpur is giving them another chance to appear for their JEE Advanced exam. Also, these candidates are exempted from again applying for JEE Mains Exam.

We hope that lives will get back to normal soon and all these candidates will peacefully be able to sit for their JEE Advanced Exam 2021. As of now, we cannot say till what time a re-scheduled date will be released but we are expecting that if these start getting better, so, somewhere in the month of September 2021 there is a possibility that JEE Advanced Exam will be organised.
