Tamil actor Vivek gave up his last breath: Film industry mourning for his untimely demise

|Padma Shri recipient Tamil actor Vivek has passed away at the age of 59. A heartbroken, shattered environment surrounds the industry. South Indian film industry has mourned for the great loss.

Tamil Actor Vivek died: Cause of death

Vivek was hospitalized at a private hospital in Chennai for a cardiac arrest. In SIMS hospital he was taken for an angioplasty and stenting procedure for a critical heart block on Friday. As per his complaint about his discomforts, he was put forward to the emergency room in senseless condition around 11 am and the medical team has stated that the sudden attack was caused by acute coronary syndrome which is not exactly related to the covid-19 vaccination. Though he was in ECMO support for pumping oxygenated blood outside the body his deteriorating condition caused his death. At 4:35 am he gave up his last breath.

About his Film career

Vivekanandan was his actual name though he was renowned as Vivek on the stage. He had won fan’s heart with his comedy role at first. Gradually he explored himself as a playback singer and also a social activist. In 1990 he started his journey through the lead comedian role. And that gave him a huge break in the Film industry. Then he acted in many films consecutively such as Ajith Kumar, Vaali, Kushi, Priyamanavale, Minnale, and so on. In 2002,2003 he was awarded Filmfare best comedian awards and Tamil Nadu State Film Award for best comedian. And his contribution to Tamil cinema has been honored by the Tamil Nadu Government.

Social activities

Vivek received immense love and respect from his fan for his humble humanity. He had participated in green innovation like afforestation. He was intensively inspired by former president Dr. Apj Abdul Kalam and had also started the ‘Green kalam’ project in 2011 where 33.23 lakhs of trees had been planted so far. To create awareness for global warming he had started the ‘Sai Prasanna Foundation’ in the name of his son to plant one crore plants.


Though Vivek is an actor professionally he seems to be an environmental warrior to protect the earth. His body was kept in his residence in Chennai to convey last respect from the industry. His body was creamed in the presence of police honor.
