Ever since the alleged chat between Republic TV Editor-in-Chief and Partho Dasgupta, former Chairman of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), got leaked in the Media, it has become a talking point in the whole country. The 500 page controversial Whatsapp chat between the two was leaked on 15th January. The most controversial point was that the Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami was aware of the Balakot Strike by the Indian Forces three days before the actual strike. As soon as this news went viral, it became the most talking pint in the media with many netizens calling it a danger to the Security of the country. The opposition Congress Party has been quite vocal about this issue.
Senior leaders of Congress Party bashed the Serving Government
Now, Randeep Surjewala, spokesperson to the Indian National Congress, has said that the alleged sharing of information about the Balakot Air Strike between Arnab Goswami and former BARC Chairman, Partho Dasgupta, raises a serious security concerns. Surjewala further stated that the chats involved serious financial frauds and flaunting of proximity with the PMO Office. “This is akin to playing with national security and dhows the hollowness of those in power”, Surjewala added in a press briefing. The congress party would give a detailed statement in the next 24 to 48 hours after going though the complete Whatsapp chat. Many other senior leaders of the Congress party like Manish Tiwari, P. Chidambaram took to twitter to bash the government. The opposition leaders accused the Government of gaining electoral benefits by the Balakot Air Strike.
Arnab was earlier arrested by Mumbai Police in TRP Scam
Arnab Goswami was earlier in the controversy of TRP Scam and was arrested by Mumbai Police. However, he was later released on the bail. The Mumbai Police has said that they will not arrest Arnab until the next hearing. This leaked Whatsapp chat will increase the difficulties for the Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami.
