Dustin Diamond, the child actor who is best known for the four seasons as High schooler Screech on “Saved by the Bell” and its spinoff, is hospitalized for an unknown illness.
Reason behind hospitalization
The now 44-year-old actor was taken for a checkup last week after he complained of experiencing body pain but on further diagnosis, the doctors suspect it is cancer. More confirmatory tests are being carried out for a surer result. This sudden shock comes amidst a resurgence of the show which produced a 10-episode season last November. All of the cast members were a part of the show that ran from 1989 to 1922 except Diamond. Diamond in an interview told that it was impossible to imagine “Saved by the Bell” without his character. He considers it as a missed opportunity and regrets not doing the show.
Diamond’s career trajectory and opportunities
Diamond could not make a name for himself in the movie industry after the show’s conclusion. He acted on shows like “Scavenger Killers” and “College Friday Night”. He also acted in a porn flick but late admitted to the press that a body double was used.
Diamond’s life outside of showbiz
Diamond was also arrested for stabbing a man and did his time in jail for three long months. He also went back behind the bars after parole violations after his release.
