The board examinations are a serious question mark for numerous students since they have been patiently waiting for any news regarding their exams.There has been several notices about other entrance examinations[JEE and NEET] and were conducted in offline mode. This had created a massive opposition due to the risk these exams could cause and many students reportedly did get Covid-19 positive after giving their exams.Now the conditions are better in some states where a constant decrease in Covid-19 cases that’s a good news and hence now Education Officials are planning the examinations of various boards and have officially released the dates for the upcoming CBSE board examinations.
Education Minister declared Board exams
The Indian government was in a dilemma for a long period of time as to how and when the Board of education conducts major and important examinations like 10nth and 12th board examinations. These examinations are unavoidable and hence needs to be conducted with utter safety keeping in mind the current pandemic situation and how quickly it transmits amongst young children. Many students were passed and promoted to the next grade immediately after judging the circumstances at that point of time. Now the coronavirus cases have declined significantly but still has a high scope of bringing the second wave of the virus that might give surging amounts of cases again.
Dates for the CBSE board exams
Some major important dates given by the Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank the Union Education Minister declared the dates of CBSE exams will commence from
- May 4th until June10th of 2021
These dates are the Board exams for grade 10 and 12 which will not be online and will be conducted in a traditional offline mode. The minister also said there has been some relaxation for students as about 30 percent syllabus has been reduced and the results will include 33 percent internals marks to make things easier for the CBSE students.
States and parents ask for more time
Numerous state officials and parents including teachers are requesting to postpone the CBSE Board examinations further to provide more coordination between the students and teaching faculty. They believe more time is needed for the preparation of the board exams. The government however has pushed the dates further from their last week’s statement when the examinations were to be held in February but are now changed to May 4.
