Bharat Biotech to launch its Covid-19 vaccine COVAXIN in February

An Indian government had back the Covid-19 vaccine that could be launched as of early as in February months earlier than expected as the last stage trials was begin done in this month and the studies that have some of the far showed it is all safe and effective for a senior government scientist had told Reuters. Bharat Biotech is a private company that is developing by COVAXIN with the government that runs with the Indian Council of Medical Research that had earlier hoped to launch its only in the second quarter of the next year.

Cases rose in India

The vaccine that has shown the good efficacy to the seniors of  ICMR scientist Rajni Kant who is also a member of its Covid-19 task force had said at the research of the body’s of New Delhi in the headquarters on Thursday. It is expected that it by the beginning of next year from February or March were something that would be available. Bharat Biotech could not contact immediately.  A launch in the early February that would make COVAXIN the first India made vaccine to be rolled out. In India’s cases of corona virus infections rose up to 50,201 cases on Thursday to 8.36 million and the second is only to the United States. Deaths rate was rose by 704 with the entire total now it is at 124,315. The daily rise in of infections and the deaths rate has slowed reached a peak in the mid of September.

Kant, who is the head of ICMR’s research management, a policy, planning and coordination cell were said it was up to the health ministry to decide if COVAXIN shots that can be given to the people even before the third stage trials are over. It has shown a safety and efficacy in the phase 1 and 2 trials and in the animal studies so it is safe but you cannot be 100% sure unless the phase 3 trials are getting to conclusion said Kant. There may be have some risk if you are ready to take the risk, you can take the vaccine. If it is necessary the government can think of giving the vaccine in an emergency situation. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had said that in September the government was considering that granting an emergency authorization for a Covid-19 vaccine with is particularly for the elderly and people who are in the high risk workplaces.
