Sony Alpha 7C Camera is World’s Smallest Full-Frame Camera, Features and Price

Sony has released the “world’s smallest and lightest full-frame camera system” in India, named as the Sony Alpha 7C. The company informed sources that the SEL2860 lens will come as a part of the kit with the Sony Alpha 7C for the first few months, but will the be available separately from next year’s January. This new Sony Alpha 7C will be able to capture 4K footage and comes with AI-powered real-time tracking and eye-autofocus. The company also added that this camera is specially designed for the free-time vloggers and video creators who wish for easy and smooth content functionality.

This camera flaunts a 3-inch TFT touchscreen with 9,21,600 dots. The display can also be switched to adjust to the frame, which is a very useful and time-saving function for vloggers. It comes with a 35mm full-frame Exmor RCMOS sensor with a 24.2MP resolution and it utilises the BIONZ X image processor to transfer the still images and movies from the ISO 100 to the ISO 51200. This camera is capable of taking pictures in JPEG and can record videos in RAW (Sony ARW 2.3 format). There are several image quality modes which creators can choose from, including JPEG (Extra fine/ Fine/ Standard), RAW (compressed/ uncompressed), JPEG and RAW. This camera also comes with an Auto High Dynamic Range Feature and a dynamic Range Optimiser. Keeping these aside, the Sony Alpha 7C owns long exposure noise reduction, phase detection, digital level gauge, histogram, Fast Hybrid AF, real-time image-adjustment display, 1200-zone evaluative metering and many, many more. The company also claims that the NP-FZ100 battery of the Alpha 7C can last for up to 740 shots and has the ability to record 140 minutes of real video footage on a single dose of charge.

Price and Availability

The Sony Alpha 7C costs around Rs.1,67,990 for the body and will be made available for purchase  at Rs.1,96,990, along with the SEL2860 lens kit. It is now available at all possible Sony centres,, Alpha Flagship stores and various other stores throughout the country. Online shopping sites such as Amazon and Flipkart also deliver the cameras to the specified locations.
