Microsoft’s Surface users are supposed to know their end of service dates before they expire, Alert!

An important piece of information for Microsoft surface laptops, tablet owners. Microsoft has officially released a list that consists of end services dates for its entire lineup of surface devices, including laptops and Tabs. The firm has also officiated this sudden action in a manner to give a clear cut clarity to Surface users who are unaware of their Microsoft device’s service support.

What are all gadgets that come under the “end of services” Microsoft list?

The list comprises surface devices that have already hit their ends of service date, such as Surface RT and Surface Pro which got its release in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Surprisingly, the list also included Microsoft’s latest surface device, named Surface Book 3, Surface Pro X SQ2, and the recently released Surface Laptop Go. Meanwhile, the end of service dates exceeds up to the year 2024  for a few latest devices. The end of services list consists of more than 25 Surface devices, starting from Surface RT (26th October 2012- 11th April 2017), Surface Pro (9th February 2013 -11th April 2017), Surface 2(22nd October 2013-10th April 2018), Surface Pro 2 (October 22nd, 2013- April 10, 2018), whose end of service dates are over. On the other hand, Surface Pro 3 (20th June 2014- 13th november 2021), Surface 3 (May 5, 2015- November 13, 2021), surface book(26th october 2015- 13th november 2021), Surface Pro 4 (October 26, 2015- November 13, 2021), Surface Book with Performance Base (November 10, 2016- November 13, 2021), Surface Studio (December 15, 2016- November 13, 2021), Surface Laptop (June 14, 2017- November 13, 2021), Surface Pro (June 15, 2017- November 13, 2021), Surface Book 2 (November 17, 2017- November 17, 2021), Surface Pro LTE (December 1, 2017-December 1, 2021), Surface Go (August 2, 2018- August 2, 2022), Surface Studio 2 (October 2, 2018- October 2, 2022), Surface Laptop 2 (October 16, 2018-October 16, 2022), Surface Pro 6 (October 16, 2018- October 16, 2022), Surface Go LTE (November 20, 2018-November 20, 2022), Surface Laptop 3 (October 22, 2019- October 22, 2023), Surface Pro 7 (October 22, 2019- October 22, 2023), Surface Pro X (November 5, 2019- November 5, 2023) still have one or four more years to exceed their services period. Recently released devices such as Surface Go 2 (May 6, 2020- May 6, 2024), Surface Book 3 (May 26, 2020- May 26, 2024), Surface Pro X SQ2 (October 13, 2020- October 13, 2024), Surface Laptop Go (October 13, 2020- October 13, 2024) are also part of this list.

What is the reason for this list establishment?

The cause for this list is due to the user’s constant demand for their up-gradation of devices. The end of services defined as the Microsoft that it will stop rolling out any security updates to these devices after the published dates. The firm Microsoft also insists that the release of the End of services list is to help and manage hardware and software development of many Surface devices’ users.
