Johnny Depp Was Asked to Resign From the Fantastic Beasts Franchise

The Hollywood star Johnny Depp will be no longer play the roll Gellert Grindelwald in Warner Bros “Fantastic Beasts” franchise after he lost his libel case against a UK newspaper. Depp had sued News Group Newspapers that publisher of The Sun and the newspaper’s executive editor, Dan Wootton at London High Court over an April 2018 article that called him as a wife beater accusing him of assaulting his ex wife Amber Heard.

After a contentious of this summer trial that made the global headlines for this week the Judge Andrew Nicol on Monday dismissed the suit by saying that what are the paper published was “substantially true”. In a statement posted on Instagram on Friday, the 57 year old actor said that he was asked by Warner Bros to leave the franchise and he has been accepted that the request. In light of that recent events like he would like to make the following short statement. Firstly he did like to thank everybody who has gifted him with their support and loyalty. He have been polite and moved by your many messages of love and concern particularly with over the last few days. As secondly he is wishes to let you know that he have been asked to resign by Warner Bros from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have been respected and agreed that to request Depp wrote.

The actor’s blockbuster hit

The actor is known for blockbuster hits like “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” his first play was in Grindelwald in 2016’s  as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. He reprised the part in the 2018’s at Fantastic Beasts as the Crimes of Grindelwald and was set to start shooting for the third part in four comming years. In this statement, Depp also revealed that he plans to appeal the ruling. The judgment of the court in the United Kingdom will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal. He said that his resolve remains strong and he intend to prove that the allegations against him are false. His life and career will not be defined by this moment in that time, the actor concluded.

Fantastic Beasts releasing date

Warner Bros confirmed Depp is a departure and announced his role will be recast before the third installment opens in theatres reported Entertainment Weekly. Depp will depart on the ’Fantastic Beasts’ franchise. He thanked Johnny for his work on the films to date. ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ is currently in production, and the role of Gellert Grindelwald will be recast by some other person. The film will debut in theatres worldwide in the summer of 2022 the studio said in a statement.
