On Thursday, Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram to announce the loss of her third child with John Legend. The couple was shocked and in deep pain. The 34-year-old model was taken to the hospital after excessive bleeding. Teigen already has two children with Legend. However, this child was the first one conceived without IVF. Teigen was already halfway through her pregnancy, but the complications were too many for the little one to handle.
Teigen’s heartbreaking Instagram post
Chrissy Teigen shared a lengthy post announcing the death of their baby, Jack, on Instagram. She expressed that she and Legend were shocked and in deep pain as all of this was relatively new to them.
We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.
The heartbreaking post included five pictures. In the first one, Teigen was sitting on a hospital bed in tears. The second one was clicked as she got a blood transfusion. These were followed by the couple holding hands in one picture and cradling their still-born baby in another.
Jack – The Warrior Baby
Teigen further shared about how the couple never named their children until the day they had to leave the hospital. For some reason, they began calling this child Jack. She continued,
Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be forever. To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.
A shower of positivity and support
Following the announcement, fans were overwhelmed by the transparency shown by the pair. They thanked them for the same and showered them with a lot of positivity and support. Many other celebrities extended their support to them via Twitter. Teigen further thanked everyone for sending positive energy, thoughts, and prayers. Speaking on behalf of both of them, she expressed how grateful they were to have Luna (4) and Miles (2) in their lives.
On the way back home, Teigen took to Twitter to express the heartbreaking feeling of having to go home without her child. It felt unreal. Legend reposted his wife’s post and wrote,
We love you, Jack.
