Amanda Seales, ex-host of The Real, accused the producers of the show of plagiarising her logo design. She took to Instagram to express her concerns and addressed the issue in a long paragraph. On Monday, the current hosts, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Adrienne Houghton and Garcelle Beauvais made a virtual appearance. They launched the new Black Lives Matter University segment. However, the logo displayed in that segment had a striking resemblance to Seales’ Smart, Funny & Black logo. When Seales pointed this out, her fans too agreed with her.
Amanda Seales ‘ Accusation
Seales was clearly furious after seeing the new logo. She made some strong statements in her post on Instagram. She believes that The Real demonstrated low class and even lower vibration. Seales blatantly pointed out the similarities between the two logos. Naturally, she was furious about it. Further, she spoke about how people have always stolen black peoples’ creative work. Seales urged that such people need to be called out. She continued,
Also, because this is the most energy I’ll give it before going on with my day and creating more dopeness that will inevitably be pilfered by the less talented/ethical/ancestrally connected individuals of our species.
Seales and The Real
Formerly, Seales was also a host alongside the current hosts. She joined the show back in January. However, she left The Real after 6 months and claimed that it was breaking her spirit. Additionally, she revealed that a white producer was chosen over several potential black producers to help create Smart, Funny & Black as a game segment that pertained to familiar topics within the Black community.
Smart, Funny & Black
Amanda Seales started the Smart, Funny & Black podcast to throw some light on social issues related to Black people and their community. In the podcast, she speaks about serious topics like racism, rape culture, police brutality, and more. She spreads awareness about these issues with humor and wit and strives to make it interesting and relevant.
Amanda Seales has always been one to call out injustice. She has been an out-spoken person throughout. Moreover, she attracted tabloid media when she called out Kim Kardashian for blackface on Instagram last year. Seales has never feared being vocal – and she certainly won’t stop until justice is served.
