Zendaya Euphoria‘s star, 24, marked history at the 2020 Primetime Emmys Award night on Sunday. She became the youngest ever best actress winner in a drama series conquering over her fellow nominee Jodie Comer, who won the award last year at the age of 26. Consequently, Emmys found a fresh face in the sequence of the lead drama actress for the second year having a first time nominee Zendaya. Significantly, Zendaya now has become the second Black actress to win the lead drama actress award after Viola Davis who had won in 2015 win for How To Get Away With Murder.

An emotional moment

Only 24-year-old Zendaya became so emotional when she addressed to take home the trophy for the marvelous role she performed in the HBO series remarking her historical victorious Sunday night. Zendaya became heart filled when she visualized that her fellow nominees like Jennifer Aniston were cheering on and applauded the Euphoria actress for achieving the title of the youngest drama lead actress on the stage of the 72nd Emmys. She said that she became so overwhelmed at such a precious moment. According to her, the Sunday night was so memorable and precious one to her.

Family and friends of Zendaya became crazy and they streamed, encouraged, hugged her, and cried with the happy heart behind her when the stunned actress was accepting the award. Zendaya thanked her family, her friends, her co-stars, and the core team for such an achievement. She said that there is a lot of hope in the young actors and actresses out there to work and remark their work. She also thanked the TV shows saying that she knew that the TV didn’t always felt a great example of that but even then she was thankful for doing that work.

On the screenplay of Euphoria, Zendaya played the role of Rue Bennett. It is a character of a teenage addict who is struggling with her abstinence and recovery on the series that mark out the sex, drugs, trauma, and identity among high-schoolers. Zendaya won for her indifferent and challenging role as a teenage drug addict. Her amazing performance gather all the attention from the Television Academy for it and marked her to win the award. To come out with such achievement, Zendaya beat Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), Comer and her “Killing Eve” co-star Sandra Oh, Olivia Colman (“The Crown”), and Laura Linney (“Ozark”).
