The 13th season of the Indian Premier League finally began on 19th September. Due to the rising cases of the coronavirus in India, Dubai is hosting the League this year with utmost precautions. While playing the matches, the players, too, are following social distancing protocols in most modern fashion. The season kicked off with Mumbai Indians facing Chennai Super Kings. CSK won the first match. In the second match between Delhi Capital and Kings XI Punjab, DC won in the super over. Viewers are all geared up to witness the 3rd match of the season between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore ( RCB ).
SRH v/s RCB – Changes and Challenges
Speaking about SRH, the Orange Army will miss out on Shakib Al Hasan’s all-rounder abilities as he was banned by the ICC. All eyes are now on David Warner, who has previously won the Orange Cap thrice. He will, once again, pair up with Jonny Bairstow. The electrifying duo is considered to be the best opening pair as they have shattered multiple records including the highest opening partnership in IPL history against RCB last season. The franchise has invested in many young players that have great potential. However, they still have destructive players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Siddarth Kaul, Basil Thampi, and more. When it comes to SRH, their batting order is a bit messy. Furthermore, the team is well known for its depth and variation in bowling.
On the other hand, RCB has now added the South African all-rounder, Chris Morris, to its franchise. Being three-time finalists in 12 seasons, the team has never been able to lift the trophy, despite having some of the best players. However, Virat Kohli is quite confident about their chances this season. Although, he is well aware of the fact that they don’t stand a chance unless the team performs well in all departments. With Australian captain Aaron Finch on board, the team is expected to grow stronger. Moreover, people also have high expectations from the newbie, Devdutt Padikal. RCB has also admitted to having a weak point when it comes to bowling. But, their batting is strong, especially with players like AB de Villers on their side.
