As all other retailers have been forced to close down, Apple has announced the opening of its new and unique retail store in Singapore. Not even a world pandemic can stop Apple! Moreover, this futuristic outlet is fully surrounded by water. Unlike normal retail stores, it has been constructed in a spherical shape using 114 pieces of curved glass. Being the third Apple store in Singapore, it creates a new space for the customers. The store has been named Apple Marina Bay Sands since it is part of the Marina Bay Sands complex.
Structure of the Apple store
The store comprises of three distinct zones. The first is an open Broadwalk that emerges from the shore. It has been marked by a small Apple signpost. Further, this Broadwalk leads the customers towards the dome, which is the second zone. Here, 10 tables along with 10 trees are arranged in a unique pattern. A Forum, Video Wall, and leather benches have been placed opposite the entrance for the Today at Apple sessions. When one looks above the Forum, the roof of the dome can be seen. It has been designed in such a way that it reflects Singapore’s tropical climate. The dome is fully self-supported by 10 narrow vertical mullions. Moving on, the store’s third zone is a sub-aquatic tunnel and Boardroom, which connects the dome to Marina Bay Sands. For the very first time, a curved staircase, a set of escalators, and a cylindrical elevator descend underwater.
What can the visitors experience here?
Visitors come across a dramatic reveal while entering the dome. Further, they have the liberty to explore and surf through a variety of Apple products on display. They can also receive personal tech support from Geniuses if they wish to, or simply embrace the mesmerizing view of Marina Bay.
