In this spin-off, Vidar portrays a new kind of Viking who was brought up far from the Norse Mothership also without the knowledge of raiding. Soon the audience will see that even though he has no experience in raiding that doesn’t mean he is anything less than a Viking. Vidar is a fighter and a daredevil, who is mesmerized by unknown lands and is not afraid of the sea. When the audience will be introduced to him, he would have just sailed a small ship of Greenland across 2000 miles of the North Atlantic. Vigorous and faithful to his family, there are hints of problems with his dominating and opinionated father (Skardu), and he’s ready for a revolt. Like his sister Signe, Vidar has been brought up as a believer of Odin and “the old ways”, but unlike Signe, he is broad-minded.
