NHL to resume Stanley Cup’s Playoffs

The National Hockey League (NHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in North America. Altogether the association comprises 31 teams currently, out of which 24 are in the United States of America and 7 are in Canada. The NHL is quite an eminent league and is considered to be the premier professional ice hockey league in the world and also secures the position of one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. The ‘Stanley Cup’ carries the importance of the oldest and the prestigious award in North America. This cup is awarded annually to the league playoff champion when each season comes to an end.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are back! 

The National hockey league (NHL) is all set to recommence the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Three games each will be played on Saturday and Sunday, which will be the first playoff match after a halt since Wednesday. Earlier the playoff was scheduled on the next day that was Thursday, but then the National Hockey League Player’s Association (NHLPA) made a decision to not carry out the playoffs as the players did not want to play as an act if protest against the racial discrimination taking place against the Blacks.

All set to get back to the field

The games which were scheduled on Thursday and Friday were postponed in order to protest against a brutal incident that took place in Kenosha, where a 29-year-old African-American man Jacob Blake was shot by a policeman for seven consecutive times consecutively on his back. Leaving his waist down area paralyzed completely. Players from other sports are raising their voices against this domineering and barbaric behavior of the police. Many games were postponed in the wake of an incident that took place earlier in August.

Now the players will make a comeback to the field. In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins and Tampa Lightning will play game 4 of their series in the afternoon on Saturday, whereas the match between the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders is scheduled in the evening at 7p.m. on the same day. Also, the Vegas Golden Knights will take over the Vancouver Canucks in game 3 of their series at 9:45p.m., Saturday. While on Sunday, the viewers will witness a match between Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars in game 4 of their series at 6 p.m. Furthermore the Canucks and the Golden Knights have occupied a space at the 10:30 p.m.

So all the arrangements have been done. A proper schedule has been planned in order to provide the best entertainment to the viewers with all the hockey fun. It will be great to witness those who take up the Stanley Cup this year. Amid all the sport’s craze and excitement, it is also necessary to understand the necessity of raising voice against injustice. Absolute support of the masses and the outbreak of people’s anger towards wrong is the need of the hour. To safeguard humanity it is important to come together and fight against evil.
