Chinese Apps banned by Indian Government, saying “Risky for national security”

In the High-Tech Digital Strike 2.0 against China, the Central Government of India Banned 118 Chinese phone applications on Wednesday just one month after banning 59 apps before.

Going with the vision of ‘Make In India’ and the on-ground processing mission ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made another explosive official announcement to ban 118 more apps including globally most popular and trending game PUBG proposing an official statement that these apps were engaged in some activities that are “Prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of State and public order” .

Knee Jerk Reaction

One month before the Central Government of India had already banned a number of 59 Chinese phone apps like TikTok and UC Browser just after the violent encounter between Indian and Chinese armed forces in Galwan valley along LAC happened in June. Now, collectively 224 Chinese phone applications have been banned by the Indian Government. Yesterday most dominating Chinese apps in Indian Tech Market like PUBG, PUBG Lite, Ludo, Cleaner, App Lock Lite etc all banned in India now.

Reason Behind the decision

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology explained the decision that many protestations from several sources were popping out regarding stealing users’ data and therefore keeping the internal security issue in mind, the Ministry in conjunction with Indian Central Government banned the apps on the account of the arising threats to the privacy of the users adducing its power under section 69 A of Information Technology Act.

Official statement

“The compilation of these data, its mining and profiling by elements hostile to national security and defence of India, which ultimately impinges upon the sovereignty and integrity of India, is a matter of very deep and immediate concern which requires emergency measures”, issued by Central Administration.

Powerful Message to China

According to the Cyber expert Pavan Duggal, this explosive decision to ban these dominating Chinese phone apps is more likely an economic strike to give a strategic powerful message to China in the reply of all what was happened in the Galwan Valley violation at LAC by Chinese troops.

Indian Experts watching it as the great move by the Indian Government to make the Indian Economy free from Chinese Shackles.
