Former Warrior Andre Iguodala logs 19 minutes in Heat’s Game 1 win vs. Bucks

2020 is painting a different story to everyone and again it did. Over the past five years the second round of the NBA Playoffs has brought on a new matchup for the Golden State Warriors and after the seven consecutive trips to the post season The Warriors streak is over in 2020. They were left outside the Orlando Bubble. In the first round former Warriors Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson III and Justin Holiday were eliminated. In the second round underway, a handful of ex-Warriors are still on the court. On Monday, Golden State’s 2015 Finals Most Valuable Player laced up for the Miami Heat against the Milwaukee Bucks. In just 19 minutes off the bench, Andre Iguodala tailed two points on 1 of 4 shooting on the field. This has happened for the first time in the Miami’s 2020 playoff run, Iguodala did not did not play the entire fourth quarter.

The 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player recorded four points, two blocks and a rebound in 25 minutes off the bench. One of Iguodala’s buckets came on an alleyoop from Heat rookie Tyler Herro. Iguodala played every minute for Erik Spoelstra in the final period. The Heat outscored the Pacers 32-21 in the fourth quarter to seal a game one victory against Indiana, 113-101. He played vital role down the stretch.

Andre Iguodala is a swingman and was named as an NBA All-Star in 2012 in the NBA All-Defensive Team twice. In 2015 he was considered as the most valuable players in the NBA finals. He was also the member of the United States national team at 2010 FIBA World Championship and 2012 Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal in both the games. In 2014-2015 he became a reserve for the first time in career, but he captured the Finals MVP after returning to the starting lineup that too in the middle of the championship series.

The Heat clinging to a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Iguodala played every minute for Erik Spoelstra in the final period. Iguodala and the Heat will be back on the court at the Disney World campus on Thursday for game two against the Pacers.
