The 50-year-old comedian and actress took to Twitter and Instagram to announce her surprise weekend wedding to Singer Jessica Betts. This announcement is the first time she comes out as a part of the LGBTQ+ community and a public revelation of her first relationship with a woman.
Jessica and Carol a.k.a. Nicey got acquainted with each other when they worked together on “Claws”. Nash was married to her former husband, Jay Tucker, at the time. Their divorce was finalized in March 2020. Within 6 months of the divorce, wedding bells were heard for Nicey Nash once again!
Nash captioned her Instagram post “Mrs. Carol Denise Betts” with “#LoveWins” and also added the ring emoji and the rainbow emoji. Jessica’s Instagram post said, “I got a whole Wife” also, with a ring emoji.
From the looks of it, the couple had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in a lush garden setting. Nicey wore a beautiful white wedding gown with a long, flowing veil while Jessica was spotted wearing a button-down dress shirt, pants, vest, tie, and sneakers.
Nash added another photo of her and Betts on her Instagram story on Monday and captioned it “#PlotTwist” with a rainbow emoji. On the same day, Betts added an Instagram post in which she shared her 2018 love song “Catch Me” and captioned it “C A U G H T” with a ring emoji. Betts sang this song with Nash on the sets of “Claws”. In the video, Nash is seen wearing a wedding dress for her costume while Betts accompanies her with a guitar.
After seeing the announcement post, several celebrities left a lot of positive comments, especially in Nash’s comment section. A few of the comments were as follows:
