Mexican Comedian 'El Loco' Valdes dies at age 89

Mexican Actor and Comedian Manual Valdes popularised by his nickname “EL LOCO” or “THE CRAZY ONE” took his last breath on Friday, at the age of 89. Known for his bushy eyebrows and manic stare, The legendary comedian was born in 1931 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The artistic journey of the actor started in the year 1949 when he starred for the first time in the movie Tender Pumpkins. El LOCO was suffering from numerous ailments in recent years including Cancer. His daughter Arcelia Valdés Larrañaga confirmed to CNN the cause of his death was gastric metabolic acidosis.

Family Contribution in Entertainment Industry

Fewer people would be aware of the fact that Manual Valdes was among one of the famous Trio Brothers of the Mexican Film Industry, and their contribution has always been regarded as a benchmark. His brother TIN TAN (German)made a large number of movies in the 1950’s and ’60s. His other brother Ramón starred for years as “Don Ramón” on the TV series “El Chavo del Ocho.”He was also the father of singers Christian Castro and  Marcos Valdes.

The messages of condolences and wishes flooded over twitter after the news of his demise was publicised. The significant contribution made by EL LOCO will always be an inspiration for upcoming actors in the Mexican film industry.”We say farewell to one of the greatest figures of Mexican comedy, until we met again, Manuel “El Loco” Valdés,” the actors association wrote in its Twitter account.
