Another day, another giant piece of concert news: They Might Be Giants revealed on Tuesday that the band will be doing a “free family concert” in Prospect Park on July 11.
In recent years, TMBG, indie rock legends who got their start in Williamsburg in the 1980s, have turned their attention to pre-teen audiences. That they bill their Prospect Park event as a “family concert” with a start time of 4:00pm indicates that they will probably feature music appealing to the younger crowd (and to discerning adults), no doubt including songs from their Grammy winning album Here Come the 123s, such as “Never Go to Work”:
Unfortunately, that’s a song that applies to lots of grown-ups these days.
