Here’s a round-up of last week’s crime in the Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, and Boerum Hill area:
A perp broke into a woman’s jeep on April 2, after she parked it overnight on Tompkins Place, between Kane and DeGraw streets. The thug smashed through the driver’s side window, and stole over $3,500 worth of electronics, a GPS, and the woman’s expensive sunglasses. Cops were able to recover the goods, but it was unclear whether they arrested the man or if they found them discarded elsewhere.
A thug punched a 15-year-old kid twice in the mouth in an attempt to mug him, but didn’t get any goods. The incident happened on April 8 at 3:30 pm, when the boy was walking southbound on Smith Street, near Dean Street. As he approached the corner, the perp grabbed him and punched him, which later required emergency dental surgery. The perp fled the scene, but cops are reviewing surveillance tapes to try and identify him.
A robber stole a woman’s wallet in the Trader Joe’s supermarket on Court Street on April 8. The woman told cops she was returning an item around 1 pm and put her wallet back in her bag when the transaction was done. But when she reached into her bag later, she realized that the wallet was gone.
Cops arrested a 17-year-old boy after he beat up a classmate outside Cobble Hill High School on April 8. The incident happened at 12:30, when the perp approached his victim, said, “What do you have in your pocket?,” and then grabbed the boy’s pants. The victim said, “That’s my wallet,” and held onto it through his pant leg. The perp wrestled the wallet from his 15-year-old prey, but cops caught up with him, recovered the wallet and made the arrest.
Cops arrested a perp on April 9 after he stole a woman’s iPod from her hand as she got out of the F-train at Bergen Street. The incident happened at 6:30 pm, and cops grabbed the 17-year-old perp as he darted out of the station, recovering the woman’s iPod.
