Fire at The Peking 2
From CHB tipster “Anders” comes this report of a fire Saturday night on Court Street:
It was a fire last night at The Peking 2 restaurant at Court Street, by the end of Butler. Lots of smoke, lots of fire trucks, lots of commotion. Old ladies in the building got evacuated in their robes out on the street. The guest at Watty & Meg eventually had to move inside because of the smoke and smell.

Lucali = mobster cover?
The Daily News reports that Lucali may have a staffer who isn’t doing much work: Colombo crime family associate Dominick “Black Dom” Dionisio claims to have a job there, but has really turned it into a social club of sorts.
“Recent surveillance and source information indicates the defendant is abusing the terms of his release and that, in his purported employment, the defendant does not actually work,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Argentieri stated in court papers.
Prosecutors informed the judge that Dionisio had not provided any pay stubs since he began working at Lucali’s last October.
He turned around and produced 10 sequentially numbered checks issued from the personal account of Lucali’s owner Mark Iacono, according to a letter filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Basilico War of Carroll Gardens is Over
Curbed reports on what seems to be an happy ending in the Great Carroll Gardens Basilico War:
Curbed: Some recap first. The war began when the residents of a building on President Street near Henry, enraged that some varmint was filching the fresh basil growing outside their door, posted a sign reading, “PLEASE Stop taking our BASIL! IT IS VERY Cheap AND YOU CAN buy you own. P.S. The children are quite disturbed by your actions. And so are the adults.” … Today fresh basil grows anew on President Street. It was apparently a gift, for next to it is a simple sign written (by a kid, judging from the spelling) on a piece of white paper: “Hey, Hwoever you are, thanks for the new basil!!!” There’s also a happy face and a heart.
