The outside of the former Shakespeare’s Sister space at 270 Court Street is looking noticeably different, and both Brownstoner and Pardon Me for Asking are reporting on the changes, and a rumor that a restaurant might be coming to the space. Anyone know what’s going on?

The Daily News has the complete story on the tree branch that fell on a man in Carroll Park yesterday. Justin Calicchio, 23, was playing dodgeball with his friends when he was knocked out by a falling broken branch.
Calicchio had a neck brace on and was awaiting X-rays last night, he said. He is believed to have suffered back injuries, paramedics said.
A “traumatized” Calicchio said he was happy to be alive and thanked his rescuers, who told him he was inches away from more serious injuries.
This in from the 76th Precinct:
At approximately 4:40 pm this afternoon, a large tree branch fell from a tree inside Carroll Park. The branch fell in the vicinity of the the World War I memorial, on the Carroll Street side of the park. 1 man received what we believe are very minor injuries, and was removed to the hospital for evaluation. Fortunately, no other people were injured, and there were no serious injuries. Specialists from the Parks Department are already on the scene evaluating the condition of that tree, as well as all of the other trees in the park, and will take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of park-goers.
Looks like the old Panino’teca 275 location will become The Wing Bar, according to a sign outside reading “The Wing Bar: Coming Soon!” There seem to be people in there meeting already, so there probably won’t be much of a remodeling of the interior. Out with the sandwiches, in with the wings.
