Yes We Can – Still Hate Park Slope

Leave it to the Stroller Moms and Emasculated Dads of Park Slope to take some of the sweetness out of today’s election.  Geez, do they have to “own” and/or “exemplify” everything?  Ooofah.

Brownstoner: As we saw in the Brooklyn political donations map last week, Brooklyn tilts heavily toward the blue. Perhaps that’s why the British newspaper The Guardian chose it to represent left-leaning America. “If New York city epitomises liberal America; and if Park Slope, a neighbourhood of Brooklyn heavily peopled by writers, artists and other creative souls, epitomises left-leaning New York; then the co-op epitomises left-leaning Park Slope.”

Large Cobble Hill Turnout This morning

Picture taken at 630a, from BK11201.com

The line wrapped around the block this morning at PS29, where neighborhood residents showed up early to vote in this year’s election. After waiting in line for 45min, we were informed that if we knew our district (we did), that we could skip the lines and walk right in. Vote cast, democracy prevails.

Tip of the day — figure out your district before showing up, it’ll save you an hour!
