Dead Animals: Is Cobble Hill Next?

From the Brooklyn Paper comes a story of horror and animal parts found in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Theories abound that the sack may have been a part of a Santeria sacrifice ritual:

Inside a soaking blue sack were decapitated turkeys, a smaller bird, dead fish, beans, corn, root vegetables, plantains, and six $1 bills.

Ewwwww. Cobble Hill residents who practice Santeria are advised to dispose of their animal sacrifices properly.

Paying for Pesach

It looks like we will have gray, rainy Seders this evening, perhaps all the better to accompany the bitter herbs… Bitter herbs that, as Benyamin Cohen writes at slate.com, could be exorbitantly marked up for the season, along with other necessary accoutrements. $24 for matzoh?
