Award Winning Poet Moves to Cobble Hill

Poet Jonathan Thirkield and Ema Yamashiro are moving to Cobble Hill according to Blockshopper.   Thirkield was chosen for the Academy of America Poet’s Walt Whitman Award in 2008 for his collection The Waker’s Corridor.

Cobble Hillbilly Mary Alice Stephenson: JLo is Pale, McCord is Nice

Ween Announces Central Park Summerstage Show

Ween, co-fronted by Cobble Hillbilly Aaron Freeman aka Gene Ween, will play a show at Central Park’s Summerstage on September 17.  The band announced the show on their website.   The bans is currently playing a few dates around the country, including a stop a Bonnaroo in Tennessee on June 13.

Boerum Hill’s Peter Hedges Goes Back to Iowa

Boerum Hill resident/author Peter Hedges recently went back home to Iowa to promote his new novel The Heights.   The book, which is soon to be a major motion picture directed by the writer, takes place in a fictionalized-ish version of Brooklyn Heights.
