While it’s still unknown if a bona fide NYPD officer was the man who quipped “I don’t do CPR” as 11 year old Briana Ojeda lay dying of an asthma attack on Henry Street Sunday, the girl’s mother pleaded with him to “man up” and identify himself to authorities. Update: Officials now say that [...]

by Homer Fink on 30. Aug, 2010 in Carroll Gardens
Anyone who has ever been in an emergency medical situation knows just how precious time can become. That concept appears to have been lost on the NYPD officer, or auxiliary officer or traffic agent or private security guard who delayed little Briana Ojeda’s mother from getting her to Long Island College Hospital in time [...]

by Caitlin Heikkila on 19. Jul, 2010 in Carroll Gardens, Events
Smith Street overflowed with sand, sangria, and Francophiles yesterday at the 2010 Bastille Day celebration. I managed to snap a few pictures before the sweltering heat forced me to take run for AC and a couch.

by Homer Fink on 15. Jun, 2010 in Carroll Gardens, Food
