Blogger “Bucky” has an issue with Cobble Hill. Seems like she doesn’t appreciate the lovely mommies and cool wine bars in the nabe. She’s much more comfy in tony Brooklyn Heights (hey…wasn’t that Fink’s boxing name… Tony Brooklynheights?):
Bucky’s World: So we wound up at Bocca Lupo, a wine bar that serves panini lunches. It’s one of those places where the portions are small, the prices are big and the service is bad. And I was NOT in the mood for such a place. Then all of The Cobble Hill moms started pouring in with their SUV-sized baby strollers. It was everything the stereotype says it is. I am not at all enamored of Cobble Hill. I’d like to go back to Brooklyn Heights, please.

If your not in the mood to go into “such a place” then don’t. Why ruin the fun for everyone else with your sour attitude just because you don’t like kids.
With her attitude, maybe she shouldn’t live here in the Heights since there are “quite a few” children living north of Atlantic Ave.
forget the heights, how about going back to the midwest?
Wait… you’re suggesting people who don’t like children should leave NYC for the Midwest? Isn’t that kinda the opposite of the norm? Isn’t this misanthrope mecca?
Actually Hugh, in her post she rails on the moms and their huge strollers, not her dislike of children. She as also complaining about the small portions and the lousy service. All of these things are quite typical in most places in the city. I just suggested she’s be better sevred in the suburbs, where olive garden has all you can eat, the sidewalks are huge, and people might be more to her liking. The city is a compact place, not everyone can handle it
we live nearby and couldn’t agree more. Lupo is no longer welcoming as it was when it opened and it is a stroller parking lot at happy hr.
Snarky. Yes. Accurate. Yes.
why does everyone care about her opinion?
Isnt the problem with SUV’s that they require a lot of gas? I dont understand the metaphor.
Randy, I’m wondering the same thing.
If you think that there is a substantial difference between Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights, you have lost all perspective on the world.
Having Grown up in Cobble Hill, and lived here most my life, If you don’t notice a difference between Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights, you havent lived here very long.
