    Esposito & Sons, for sure.
    There used to be a great butcher where Apple Bank now stands (Sackett and Court), but that was back in the day. Sigh.

    I agree, Max. I think it was Anthony’s or something like that. It was a great place and always looked so clean. When I think about how Carroll Gardens has changed, I get sort of sad. I’m not as old as the CG old-timers, but I’ve lived in the Heights all my life and always felt a certain kind of comfort zone whenever I’d go to the butcher and bakeries there. If the fish store on Carroll ever leaves …..

    I go to Esposito’s, but I also like Staubits, they still have sawdust on the floor (like the place you guys are talking about) , and are not as “Atittudinal” as Esposito’s.`I dig both
