New Neighbor: Ideal Properties Group

Ideal Properties Group has opened an office at 232 Court Street. The realtor has offices in Gowanus and Park Slope as well. And now a tidbit from the official press release:

Ideal’s human resources director Henry Tsaur announced that the Cobble Hill office will start serving the area with 20 brokers and salespeople. Built on solid technological grounds, and with an enduring commitment to research and design, Ideal’s highly developed infrastructure could support — according to the company’s business development team — in excess of 1,000 agents in the area.

“With our passion for the area, and with our clients’ interest and needs in mind, the opening of the Cobble Hill office seems like an intuitive fit,” Ideal’s CEO concluded.

Beautiful office! Sparkling lights, dark floors, framed NYC train rollsigns on stark white walls. Apparently, they are original. An agent told me they have very similar pieces in their Park Slope location and that the theme is something along the lines of “Start your journey in Brooklyn, and wherever you go your heart will take you back to Brooklyn.” The signs start with Brooklyn stops, go through Manhattan or Bronx, and end in Brooklyn. Very cool! Great looking space, great looking building. Great addition after the 3-yr hiatus and construction. I love walking down that side of the street again.

I have never seen anyone so happy to have yet another realtor set up shop in the neighborhood.

C’mon local. Can’t you appreciate beauty…. even if it comes in the form of a realtor office? I’m so sorry I haven’t taken a bitter pill prior to writing yesterday, sooooooo… really pretty office. I stand by my original statement. Definitely prettier and cooler than most other realtors on the strip.

Well now, someone tell us: Who is Ideal? How old? They seem to have a lot of money, but what else do we know? Maybe the spaces are too cool. If you are going to do a story on a new business could we have a little depth?

The bitter pill was taken by all the people in the neighborhood who loved the dry cleaners that were priced out of there. They had been there many many years, served the community, and were beloved by the neighborhood, proven by the all of postcards, growing baby’s photos, and thank you notes that had adorned their wall from eternally grateful customers over the many years they had been in service. But yeah, a framed subway sign and dark floors are nice too.
I wish any new business luck, especially on Court street, but it will be awhile before another realtor is embraced by the neighborhood. Now there’s at least one on pretty much every block from Union street to Pacific.

I know, I know… I loved the dry cleaners, even though they never managed to clean my shirts well. Sorry, I had to admit it. :( I still don’t see how exactly is a new business’s fault that the landlord decided to raise rent to a business that was there before them. From what I can tell they did spend a lot of $$$$$ on the space, and the neighborhood is all the better for it. Definitely better than a vacant building with baby-blue painted plywood surrounding it.
