The BP reports this morning that a huge cache of illegal fireworks nabbed on Ocean Avenue have made their way to the 76th Precinct. Read the full story here.
“Anything fireworks-related is a big deal — but we had no idea we’d come across this much,” said a police source, who invited us to the 76th Precinct in Cobble Hill to show off the stash, in hopes that it would deter folks from seeking out the contraband.
The suspect, 32-year-old Edguardo Diaz of Sheepshead Bay, faces criminal misdemeanor charges of dealing fireworks.
Police think Diaz purchased the nearly $5,000 worth of explosives in Pennsylvania – and that’s where your friendly correspondent is headed for the July 4th weekend. Do not fret, dear readers; I will not bring any of them back to New York.
And I will return with all my fingers.
